It’s a sobering fact, but one that I’m trying to learn. When you’ve spent your life as an overt people pleaser, this may be the most difficult lesson to learn.
Not like altogether.
But stop caring so darn much. Stop caring what other people think. Stop caring what other people say. Stop caring whether they will stick around or not after they have discovered the real you, not the perfect version of you that you put out to the world, customized for every person you meet.
Stop caring if the real you is good enough. She is. Just as she is.
Be your own damn Darcy and be happy with who you are.
Stop caring if you’re where you’re supposed to be in life. You are. That’s why you’re there. Stop caring what it looks like to someone else’s life. Stop caring what your family or your friends think about where you are in your life. It’s your f*cking life. Not theirs.
It’s time for me to finally tell everyone, including myself, to shut up and stop caring about anything other than what will fill up my cup with lots of love.
Happy Holidays, y’all.
